The "Best 5G Network" award is based on Ookla's Speedtest Connectivity Score, which evaluates overall 5G user experience. The index consists of three components: Speed Score (50%), Web Browsing performance (25%), and Video Streaming quality (25%). According to Ookla, the assessment is based on real-world scenarios and millions of consumer-initiated tests conducted across Vietnam. VinaPhone's scores outperform other carriers in Vietnam. Graphic by VinaPhone VinaPhone recorded a Speedtest Connectivity Score of 83.60, higher than the other two 5G providers operating in Vietnam. Its Speed Score reached 75.48, exceeding the closest competitor by 8%, according to the company. The network also reported that its 5G performance indicators exceeded those of several regional operators, including Singtel, Unifi and AIS, during the third and fourth quarters of 2025.Based on these results, Ookla recognized VinaPhone as the "Best 5G Network in Southeast Asia" during that period. VinaPhone's scores outperform other carriers in the region. Graphic by VinaPhone Stephen Bye, president and CEO of Ookla, said the award reflects VinaPhone's investment and efforts in network development. "Our rigorous testing methodology ensures this is an objective testament to VinaPhone's superior market performance," he said.According to market data cited by the company, more than 70% of mobile data traffic is currently concentrated on video, social media and digital content platforms. Under optimal conditions, 5G speeds can reach over 1 Gbps, which is significantly faster than 4G and supports high-bandwidth services such as high-definition video streaming, online entertainment and remote work applications.VNPT stated that it implemented network planning and optimization measures from the early stages of 5G deployment. In addition to expanding coverage and capacity, the company said it focuses on Quality of Experience (QoE), using traffic forecasting models and user density analysis to determine base station locations.During deployment, 5G base stations undergo testing in various usage scenarios, including high-density data access, livestreaming, gaming and large-scale video transmission. The network is monitored through core and radio KPI analysis tools, enabling adjustments to parameters such as transmit power, MIMO configuration, beamforming and resource allocation. At the award ceremony on March 3, Nguyen Nam Long, vice president of VNPT Group, said: "The ‘Best 5G Network' title is more than just an international award; it reflects our technological prowess and operational excellence. It is a tribute to VinaPhone's 30-year journey (1996–2026) of striving to elevate service quality and asserting our position on the global telecommunications map."
