Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, Ahmad Muzani, signaled the possibility of Indonesia withdrawing from the Board of Peace (BoP) after meeting with President Prabowo Subianto here on Wednesday. Muzani said that the possibility of leaving the BoP had been conveyed several times by President Prabowo. "For Indonesia, participation in and withdrawal from the BoP is something that could happen, as the President has mentioned several times," Muzani said, answering reporters' questions at the Palace after meeting with President Prabowo. "We can leave (the BoP) at any time, but once again, it must be by mutual agreement," he added. On the same occasion, Muzani explained that Indonesia joined the BoP because it was believed that the institution could accelerate the process towards an independent Palestine. However, he explained that the unilateral attack carried out by the United States, as the initiator of the BoP, and the Zionist Israel, which is also a member of the BoP, against Iran, prompted Indonesia to re-evaluate the role of the BoP. "The BoP is part of an effort to accelerate the Palestinian independence process, as well as the development, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of Palestine.
