Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated 218 bridges built in various regions, including disaster-hit areas like Aceh, while praising the swift work of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) in completing the construction. In a video conference on Monday, the head of state detailed that the inaugurations included 77 Bailey bridges, 59 Armco bridges, and 82 pioneer bridges, which were built in approximately 2.5 months. "This afternoon, I hereby inaugurate 77 Bailey bridges, 59 Armco bridges, and 82 Pioneer bridges," Prabowo said, as quoted from a live broadcast on Monday. According to him, the completion of those bridges demonstrates the commitment of TNI soldiers and officials in the regions to assisting communities affected by disasters and areas that need better connectivity. The construction of these bridges is also a manifestation of the government's presence down to the village, hamlet, and remote areas, ensuring that communities are not left to face difficulties alone, he added.
