English Summary

This document highlights PEZA’s 30-year institutional credibility and its implications for foreign businesses operating in Philippine ecozones. Key compliance takeaways: PEZA-registered enterprises must maintain eligibility through sustained export performance, local employment generation (1.81M+ jobs created to date), and adherence to environmental and social standards. While no new regulatory changes are announced, PEZA reaffirms its commitment to policy stability, investor-centric governance, and streamlined incentives—including income tax holidays, duty-free importation, and VAT exemptions—subject to ongoing compliance monitoring. Affected entities include manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, and IT-BPM firms registered under PEZA. There are no immediate deadlines cited, but annual reporting to PEZA (e.g., Form 1702-RT, employment data, export records) remains mandatory. Businesses should proactively align with PEZA’s evolving ESG and innovation benchmarks, especially ahead of the 2025 Excellence Awards cycle, to safeguard incentives and strengthen stakeholder trust.

PEZA Excellence Awards
PEZA mandates compliance with all Philippine labor laws enforced by DOLE(劳工部),包括最低工资、SSS/PHIC/HDMF缴纳、OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY等。PEZA cross-checks DOLE inspection reports and may suspend incentives for repeated violations—so dual compliance is mandatory。

Pasay City - The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) capped its 30th Anniversary celebration with its annual Investors’ Recognition Night last 15 December 2025, honoring the ecozone investors and partners whose contributions have driven industrial growth, job creation, and national development. Held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, the event gathered around 3,000 attendees from government leaders, industry stakeholders, and global partners in a collective celebration of collaboration and sustained investor trust. President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. commended PEZA, ecozone developers and PEZA-registered enterprises for empowering the country's distinction as one of the leading investment hubs in Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific region. He reinforced the government support stating, “Rest assured that we, through PEZA, will continue to work with you to ensure the best possible environment where your companies can grow, thrive, and expand.” Building on the President’s message, PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga, in his keynote address, reflected on the Agency’s three-decade journey and its impact on national development, describing PEZA as “a legacy—polished through time, perseverance, and determination. This is PEZA: The Pearl of Progress.” He cited the Agency’s impact since 1995—over PhP 4.5 trillion in investments with more than 1.81 million high quality jobs, and over US$1.12 trillion in exports—and stressed the pivotal role of partnership to sustaining momentum. He noted, “We cannot do this alone. The most essential element that has allowed PEZA to be so successful are the synergies built through time with our industry partners. Without them, we would not have achieved so much.” Strong Government and Industry Reinforced Confidence in PEZA Government and foreign investor confidence in PEZA were reinforced during the celebration, as Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary and PEZA Board Chair Cristina Roque cited the Agency’s consistent commitment to both investors and workers as central to strengthening the country’s investment climate. She said, “PEZA has always had a steady commitment to both investors and workers, making it one of the most trusted investment promotion agencies (IPAs). DTI takes pride in walking alongside PEZA and the rest of the economic team as we strengthen the country’s investment climate.” This strong vote of support was echoed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Philippines, His Excellency Endo Kazuya, who delivered a video message recognizing Japan as PEZA’s top country investor and congratulating the 18 Japanese companies honored during the Investors’ Recognition Night. Noting the presence of more than 730 Japanese enterprises operating within PEZA ecozones, the Ambassador underscored Japan’s long-standing partnership with the Philippines, saying, “This makes Japan the largest investor of PEZA. I also pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of all individuals, especially the Filipino workers. Together with PEZA, we will continue to work tirelessly to further strengthen the already robust economic ties between our two nations.” This was further affirmed by industry leaders led by PHILEA President Francisco S. Zaldarriaga, SEIPI President Dr. Danilo Lachica, and IBPAP President Jack R. Madrid, who expressed continued trust in PEZA’s policy stability, investor-centric governance, and institutional credibility. They emphasized that PEZA’s sustained advocacy for globally competitive ecozones has supported industrial expansion across the manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, and IT-BPM sectors, positioning the Philippines as a reliable partner in global value chains. PEZA Excellence Awards 2025 The celebration featured the conferment of the PEZA Excellence Awards 2025, recognizing 44 outstanding ecozone investors for their contributions to innovation, sustainability, employment generation, and national development. The awards were presented by Secretary Roque, together with DG Panga and Deputy Director General for Operations Vivian S. Santos, honoring enterprises whose continued partnership has significantly contributed to PEZA’s growth and accomplishments over the past three decades. PEZA also presented the Golden Achievement Award to Canon Business Machines Philippines Inc. for having been elevated to the Hall of Fame for all four categories. At the same time, PEZA honored the five (5) previous recipients of the award in recognition of its exemplary performance and significant contributions to export development, employment generation, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship over the course of PEZA's thirty years of distinguished service. The celebration concluded with a ceremonial toast led by Deputy Director General for Finance and Administration Maria Veronica F. Magsino, who reiterated PEZA’s commitment to integrity, service excellence, and fostering a business environment anchored on trust and partnership. DDG Magsino said, “Thirty years is not just a measure of time; it is a measure of trust, tenacity, and triumphant partnership. May we continue to build, innovate, and prosper together for many decades to come.” The PEZA Investors’ Recognition Night reflected the strong collaboration between government and industry—one measured not only by investment milestones, but by quality jobs created, communities strengthened, and sustained investor confidence as PEZA and its partners continue to advance the country’s long-term economic growth. #
